Art direction
Principles
01
We follow these 3 principles in order to create and curate beautiful sports imagery.
In action
We capture sports from every angle. and want to capture all of the action.
Our subjects should be caught in the heat of the moment – capturing their dedication passion at 360.
Zooming into the details
Macro shots can allow us to zoom into the specific moments, bringin excitement and energy into our art direction.
Emotion
Sports is all about the emotions – the ups and downs and everything in between. And were here to capture it.
Style guide
02
Following these stylistic choices will help us understand how to shoot/choose photgraphy/photographers which will work in harmony with our brand and create the most impact.
Contrast
We should aim for our images to have as much contrast as possible. We do this by increasing the contrast between highlights and shadows.
Natural lighting
To make our imagery feel as human and candid as possible we should capture our subjects in natural light.
Colour treatment
We should try and inject our core colours into our brand whre possible We should also increase the saturation of our colours, whilst also keeping them deep to bring a vibrant but natural feel to our photography
Texture application
03
When using data textures we should select images which have a clear focus on the subject. This allows create clarity and stronger layering between the subject, texture and background.
01

The subject should be shot with the focus on them. It should be clearly defined and crisp. The background sitting behind it should be out of focus with a depth of field blur – once again, driving the focus towards the subject.
02
Our texture layer should sit between the subject and the background layer.
